Welcome to Kathleen’s Cottage near Mathews & Gloucester

Kathleen’s Cottage was built in 1943 and is the former home of Kathleen and Leo Hinton from 1958 to 2013. The cottage is approximately 1,800 square feet and has been extensively updated to include a new kitchen and two new baths. King and Queen suites, each at opposite ends of the house, provide complete privacy for our guests. Each suite has its own large bath. A large living room is the perfect gathering place. A spacious glassed in porch provides year round comfort and a beautiful view of the river and is an outstanding place to enjoy sunsets on the Rivah. A dining area on the porch is the perfect place for breakfast with a view. A patio adjoins the porch and provides our guests comfort in an outdoor setting. The house has custom window treatments and many other custom features that are uncommon for a vacation cottage. Kathleen’s Cottage is decorated in the Hinton Family style.

The mooring of your boat at our 235' pier is complimentary.

Kathleen’s Cottage is located in beautiful Middlesex County, Virginia near the Piankatank River Bridge. We offer this large cottage to be your home for multiple night stays or weekly rentals. Each cottage offers WIFI and cable TV. Complimentary breakfast foods are provided for our guests: Coffee and Tea Assortment, English Muffins, Butter and Jellies, a Cereal Selection and Fresh Milk and Cream for your coffee. All you will need for a simplified breakfast at your leisure.
